G'day, mates!
For those who haven't quite caught on yet (or, rather, haven't been subjected to our spiel), Missie and I are headed to Australia for 2.5 weeks starting tomorrow. At least that's when I'm planning on leaving, and I'm thinking the rest of the troop will follow suit.
We're going on a study abroad trip with the Bagley College of Engineering along with 7 other students and a professor. I think there are more plans for abroading than studying, though the technical name for the studying (or lack thereof) is "Information Security and Forensics."
We decided that, since our schedules should mostly line up, it would be best for all interested parties to be able to check out pictures and stories in one location, so that's what this blog is all about (but don't expect too much - if I have to choose between riding a kangaroo or posting pictures, etc about the happenings of the day, I'm going roo-riding).
We leave for the airport around the glorious hour of 4:45 tomorrow morning, which is, of course, my personal favorite time of day to be awake. Two days and a lot of jet lag later, we'll be in Sydney, Australia around 6:30 A.M. their time (3:30 P.M., the day before, in MS time).
Hopefully, though, after we make our grand entrance to the country/continent of Australia (hailing from the great nation of Mississippi State, shouldn't they have a welcoming party for us?), we won't have too many roo-riding incidents so that we'll be able to keep you all posted on what we're up to!
G'day! (Haven't quite figured out goodbye in Australian, item #1 on the to do list once we get there!)
