The scenery around the park was really pretty, but it was definitely a desert park.
They had several aviaries, and we were able to get pretty close to some Kookaburras.
There was also a salt lake in the park, which was pretty neat.
They had a kangaroo encounter cage as well, so we were able to get close to some roos again, though we didn't get to touch them this time.
Next stop in the park was a birds of prey showcase, which showed us some native hunting birds in the Australian desert.
This bird is actually one of only two species in the world that can crack an emu egg. He did it by picking up a rock and smashing it against the egg several times.
After the bird show was over, we got on our way to the airport, which turned out to be a great idea. We stood in the check in line for almost an hour, but were still able to get through security well before our flight.
After arriving in Adelaide, we headed over to the Jam Factory to watch them blow glass for a while per the recommendation of some of our group.
For dinner, we went with some of the group to a local Korean BBQ restaurant, which was lots of fun. They give you a grill built into your table where you cook your food on it after picking it up from an all you can eat buffet.
After that, we headed back towards the apartments and had a semi-earlyish (10:00) bedtime to get some rest from a long weekend.
