Day 2: Sydney/Sydney Harbour

After fighting through customs and hotel check-in, we were tired but determined to explore Sydney at all costs.

We found the Metro system and, after figuring it out, stumbled across Sydney Harbour and the Opera House.

We were also amazed at how big the Sydney Harbour Bridge is...

After walking around there for a bit, we made our way into the Royal Botanical Gardens. They were huge, so we didn't get to cover the whole park, but I'd say we walked around about 1/3 of it.

In the gardens was Government House, which we didn't tour but were able to walk around.

We also came across some baby ducks while around Government House...

After finishing up at Government House, we walked around some more of the park and and came across what is widely accepted as the oldest bridge in Australia.

Then we came across what we thought were birds, but they actually turned out to be bats. They literally covered every tree in the area and were active even though it was daytime.

After having our fill of bats and gardens, we headed back towards the Opera House.

We decided to go on a tour of it, so here's several pictures from that...

After the tour was over with, we walked around the Harbour and watched the sunset from the bridge side of the harbor.

We then met up with the rest of the group and walked around downtown Sydney for a while before eating dinner at a local pub. After that, it was back to the hotel for a reasonably early bedtime.
